Table space

More space in the cockpit!! It’s a good thing, especially since we’re spending more overnights on the boat. The Nimble cockpit, while comfortable, is not giant (which is a good thing… the smaller cockpit makes her feel more secure in heavier weather, and provides more living space below). Add a few groceries, a stove for some coffee, or a grill and it gets downright crowded. After using them a bit we can offer a review of the Magma Bait/Filet table, kettle grill and mounts.

So this spring added two of Magma Product’s flush mounts (T10-326) into the cockpit coaming on either side:

These two flush mounts can both have either a table or grill mounted into them, so we can swap back and forth depending on wind direction, needs etc.The table is the Magma Bait/Filet table (T10-303), which is a nice size, has good lips on the edges, and mounts via an all-direction adjustable mount so you can level it as needed:

… table seems plenty heat resistant to use our Coleman two burner stove on (your mileage may vary, our stove doesn’t put much heat out the bottom).

The grill is the Magma 15″ kettle grill (A10-205) that takes small propane bottles. Space on the grill is pretty good, it packs down nicely down below (we don’t want to leave it out in the elements all the time) and grills surprisingly well, lots of heat control. The mount is a little less adjustable than the table mount but still works quite well:

Used together, the table and grill make a great combination… we can cook a whole meal in the cockpit without having to take up any of our seating space, allowing us to move around, prep veggies etc. without feeling cramped!! It’s a pretty solid setup, highly recommended:

The table and grill mounts are a superb addition to the cockpit! Thanks Honey! As you can imagine Bass did a fabulous job with the install. The only drawback may be not getting out on the water to sail as early as we normally do. We now find ourselves spending the morning in the cockpit enjoying two french presses!
