So, today is the day!! Yesterday was a busy day doing some final cleaning and scrubbing, securing the anchors so they don’t bang around, finishing the jib sheet cleats, getting everything dialed to drive to Redfish today and launch for the summer’s fun. Talked to the ranger station in Stanley on Monday and they said the ramp was open and there was “a little bit of ice” still on the south (far) end of the lake… the implication being the north end of the lake was wide open.
We roll in today, see we’re going to be the first boat of the season (cool, choice of parking spots) and then, well, then we get to the ramp itself… there are docks in place (good) but, ahh, still a little bit of ice, let’s say more than you could use in a few cocktails. A little video captures the mood quite nicely:
I guess we’ll try again in a week or two!
