A good weekend!

A fun weekend at Redfish Lake, good friends, great campsite (easier to camp with the hound right now than to sleep on board Turnstone), some, err, varied sailing and finally a proper naming ceremony with good witnesses.

One day of basically no wind, but pleasant to drift around and relax. Back to the Point Campground where once again the Nimble 20 proves itself very versatile, letting us stern anchor and tie to shore within wading distance:

Second day of sailing (after a day off to beat ourselves up mountain biking Fisher Creek) back on the water with friends Jim & Colleen for a mixed bag of wind as some thunderstorms rolled through. Sailed about 1/2 up lake under full sail then dropped the main for a blustery run back down lake.

Third day was the charm, although with some very variable winds, some quite strong (who gets a steady 10 with gusts to 20 but the weather station still reads “variable” for direction???). But hard to argue with the scenery:

And finally, after a few months of stressing about it, completed the proper naming ceremony, so our Nimble 20 is now officially known to all the appropriate gods as Turnstone:

So hopefully we’re safe from the “scourge” of the winds… yes, those are supposed to be “champagne flutes” but come on, if that isn’t an Idaho champagne flute I don’t know what is!
